Painting Q-Pop

First a little news: I moved to LA! I'm really excited to be down here and now that I have more free time expect to see more frequent updates and new art!

And I already have some new art to show in the form of a mural that I was fortunate to be able to help Kevin paint in a new shop run by our friend in Little Tokyo called Q-Pop. Here's a rad time-lapse video Kevin put together showing the process:

Go visit the shop to see it in person and to buy all sorts of cool stuff from our buddy Chris! It's located at 128 Astronaut E S Onizuka St, Los Angeles CA 90012 .

Comic-Con '10

Here's a run-down of what's new for Fleet Street at this year's Comic-Con. First our new booth location, this time on the opposite side of the hall near the illustrators section. We have a big corner booth this time so we'll be hard to miss. Just look across from Stuart Ng's.

Fleet Street Scandal - Booth #5007

And then we have a bunch of new prints. Here are some pics of the new screenprints. We think they turned out pretty nifty, and they're all a run of 50 so they could go pretty fast.

And the birds will be sold as a set of three 8x10 digital prints.

Kevin has a new Yuki screenprint that turned out amazing. Even has metallic ink!

Plus some of the older prints, new t-shirts, and a sneak peek at the new Yuki trailer.

Also don't forget, Genndy Tartakovsky will be at the booth on Saturday at 4 pm to do signings and promote his rad new Cartoon Network show, Sym-Bionic Titan. Check Kevin's blog for more info about this.

Ok that's it!! Pretty exciting stuff. Make sure to stop by and say hello!

Birds

On his journey around the world as Phileas Fogg's servant, Passepartout kept a travel journal where he described landscapes, plants and animals they came across along the way. Here are a few birds he painted.

The green pheasant from Japan.

The vibrant hoopoe from Israel.

The red-crowned crane from China.

A little somethin'

Here are some thumbnails I painted up a few weeks ago. I don't normally show process work but I thought these turned out kind of cool. No plans to turn these into illustrations but they might inspire something else..

ECCCCCCCCC!!!

My last post was in August, really? I have a lot of explaining to do, but as it goes with these things I can't really explain them yet. But trust that I'll have a lot of new work to post soon!

For now I just wanted to let everyone know I'll be up at the Emerald City Comicon (ECCC) in Seattle this weekend exhibiting at table 705. Kevin won't be able to make it but I'll be manning the booth with the help of my Seattle friends, so if you're in the area please stop by and say hello! The Yuki book will be there pre-signed by Kevin and Ada Cole will be there in person to sign as well. Plus we'll have our usual prints and tees.

More posts coming soon! I promise.
